Bataclan is a musical trio comprised of Denis Plante (bandoneon), Mathieu Lussier (bassoon), Catherine Perrin (harpsichord). They pooled instruments which on the one hand are reminiscent of the medieval style (harpsichord and bassoon) and the tango of South American origin (the bandoneon).ÂÂ
The first disc was launched on ATMA Classique offering this new musical adventure amazing. : Bataclan!, An improbable and exciting encounter. The three accomplices have assembled their “baggage” to go on a musical trip through the Americas. The whole is a joyous trappings which intertwine tangos, rhapsodies, fantasies and folk pieces. In addition to works composed and arranged by Mathieu Lussier, Denis Plante, Bataclan! Contains beautiful pages of Piazzolla, Villa-Lobos, Heitor Ayala and Eduardo Falu. When classical musicians lose the North, they went to the South! “Lance Denis Plante, who wrote and directed the arrangements of several pieces on Bataclan! His deep knowledge of tango and its many trips to Argentina served as a compass throughout this recording. Note in passing a tasty resumed Forest unloved our friend Pierre Lapointe.
All Bataclan! also on the immense talent of Mathieu Lussier as qu’instrumentiste, composer and arranger. In addition, Lussier started in January 2009 a second album ATMA: Devienne, Sonata for bassoon. Harpsichordist excellent – it included 3 discs published by ATMA – Catherine Perrin is also a career as a communicator. It currently runs the show It was all show business, broadcast on Radio-Canada.
