For almost the entire month of February, the show Eletria event takes the stage at Café Chaos de la rue St-Denis, Sundays and Mondays (except February 15). For those not familiar with the concept of the show, it is a musical drama from the pen and set to music by Alan Charles, leader of Existence. Catherine Boulanger gives life to the character, showing her beautiful voice with the songs from the album of the same name, adding the passage of pieces of presentation for understanding the terrible events of the life of the heroin.ÂÂ
Because yes, the drama of Eletria is  sold as a sex slave in a brothel in Toronto, forcibly drugged, abused, it will eventually get out of this hell but gets pregnant. His son died in infancy, another drama that nearly nailed the coffin of the young woman. To identify all the pain of this drama based on real life, the composer uses the piano, guitar and violin at the beautiful Francis Beaugard. Other instruments are bass and drums.
The background has a touch of progressive music since propel the emotions without worrying about time or the length of the room. The drama of Eletria was not easy to live but thanks to Alan Charles, Catherine Boulanger, Gérard Lévèque, Richard and François Beaugard Ranger, one can realize the pain still associated with the white slave trade. I was shocked by the disc Eletria when it came out a little over a year, a project that had almost 5 years to emerge. The stage version is every bit as moving and spectators often leaving eyes moist. Run Eletria see before it is too late!
It was evening of the first group of artists who chose to give life to the story of Eletria, this young woman’s life and wounded men to the point of wanting himself. After painfully overcame being sold, forced into prostitution, and getting free of drugs to which it was made dependent, life makes him the gift of a small boy, the archangel Gabriel. To him, she resumed her life in hand, could see the future with a degree of optimism. But now, Gabriel was only passing, overwhelmed by a kind of cancer, he must leave his mother but it takes a promise that will be his lifeline, it will survive, it must to survive.
The subject is not easy, especially stated in the words of Alan Charles crus, creator of music and texts Eletria. It was based on real life stories to create the show that accompanies the drive launched last fall. With the transition of texts which are almost as important as those songs, they understand better the meaning of parts and one can only lift our hats to the performer who has crept into the skin of the survivor, Catherine Boulanger.
Catherine and Alan addition to piano / guitar, found on stage François Beaugard violin, Richard Ranger bass and Gerard Lévèque to the battery. Although the texts are a powerful tool to convey the concept of Eletria, music the is just as much. She knows to be discreet when necessary and take place when all the emotion of the words is at its height. At times tonight, there was pain in the eyes of Catherine, get into the skin of this character the strength to donate themselves and to assume the torment of a Eletria as his. Spend 2 ½ hours in that living hell that our heroine is difficult for the heart, imagine for one who has lived for years.
Eletria The show is a moment that we must live at least once, the work of Alan Charles and his associates knew the importance of emotions in this kind of spectacle, music makes us feel the intensity of the storm and the softness of the few bright sunshine, while emphasizing the clouds stood still above the lives of Eletria. To continue this analogy, we can say that the little Gabriel was the arc in the sky that makes us believe that everything is still possible.
