We continue our journey through the most important albums of the decade that is ending, going from 2002 to 2003. We do so now going to find two characters that we have already discussed within this section during the on “Relationship Of Command” of At The Drive-In: Cedric Bixler Zavala and Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez. The two “mushrooms” (I like to call them so because of the hair), after the dissolution of At The Drive-In gave life to The Mars Volta with Isaiah Owens (keyboard), Jon Theodore (talented drummer, was replaced by ‘ equally valid Deantoni Parks), Eva Gardner (bass) and the late Jeremy Ward, “sound manipulator” of the band, died one month before the publication of “De-Loused In The Comatorium” When he published “De-Loused In The Comatorium ‘attention on the band were really many accomplices is the bad news of the death of Ward and the participation of Flea on bass and the incursion into” cicatrize ESP “by John Frusciante). Many professionals were literally off in front of a work of this kind was set up with the hardcore punk of splinters At The Drive-in, progressive rock, psychedelic and some of the phrases on lands close to the Latin jazz and rock … in a word a sort of “pUnk floyd.” After the incredible thump of “De-Loused In The Comatorium,” the band has not been able to repeat: “Frances the Mute” (2004) was a good drive, but certainly less than the debut, while “Amputechture” had far too many unnecessary digressions egocentrism. Various have done better with “The Bedlam in Goliath’ which have been shown to have some things to say. Definitely a little fire on the last hand, “Octahedron”, released a month ago.
