The groups that we envy Italians abroad are mainly two: the Zu and the Port-Royal. Of the first we have widely discussed in recent months (even the great accomplice “Carboniferous”), instead of seconds we had spoken only Kaos two years ago and then we are happy to go back on them.
The internationality of Port-Royal we understand the thinking that came out for an English label (the Resonant), they do concerts all over the world (they are especially popular in Russia and in’ Eastern Europe) and that their videos on Youtube have commented more foreigners from Italy. Two main outputs of the group Genovese: “Flares” (2005) and “Afraid to Dance” (2007), certainly two of Italy’s most interesting albums of recent years, with whom they have cleverly mixed the ambient atmosphere of Labradford, a certain post the-rock Sigur Rós decided grafts and electronics (especially in “Afraid to Dance”).
The Port-Royal publish their new album in October. It is called “Dying In Time” and will contain 11 tracks (you’ll find the tracklist after the jump). On this page of the site of n5MD (label that will distribute the album outside ‘Europe) you can listen to a large thumbnail 1 minute and a half of all the songs in “Dying In Time” and at first listen seems to have turned more to some electronic sounds. After jumping over the tracklist we offer some of their videos.
