Mara Tremblay, a heart thrilling singer

February 23rd, 2009 Peter

It felt great emotion and intensity in the air tonight when Mara had his fourth album to the public present in large numbers this evening at the National Ste-Catherine Street. Many friends and acquaintances of the trade, of course, but mostly people who have learned to appreciate the unique company that Mara is now 10 years by going solo.

Following the Chihuahua published in 2009, Butterflies (2001) and New Moons (2005), the new CD entitled You intimidate me and makes us discover a new facet of the artist, particularly on the song You ‘ are not free we are also presented as a video tonight. The voice has changed, is more intimate and you feel less influences country although they have not quite disappeared . An album of maturity to Mara who agreed to see his face for a first album that went almost naked to do so. A trend evident when we think it turned its back on the public early in his career, the discomfort and fright as their effect. The picture is very tasteful Valérie Jodoin-Keaton.

The album was produced by Olivier Langevin, with the help of Mara and Pierre Girard while always Olivier and Mara arrangements, assisted by Pierre Fortin this time. Antoine Gratton added his magic touch to the arrangements of strings and some musicians have distinguished guests, including François Lafontaine (Karkwa) on keyboards and Mélanie Auclair / Guido Del Fabro to stringed instruments, respectively, viola and cello.Mara showed a great creative energy.

What it is this beautiful Mara Tremblay, mother and musician, with the energy of happiness and serenity that emerges, especially with his latest album quite light on the new moons. It offered just tonight the first show from the official album released a few months ago.

Accompanied by four musicians that I have not had time to enter the names (I still recognized Gaétan Troutet on keyboards, guitar and bass), she made a few pieces of her first two albums while concentrating on his latest: The new moons. Travel, you are there, Dust, Melancholy, the first moons, etc.. Often, the crowd sang with her and knew the words by heart, which is still quite rare for someone that does not much on the radio. After all, a spectacle enjoyed not showing tower turn Mara sensitive, radiant, confident and in control of his equipment.
