Well, Trey Spruance was tearing up the stage in Albuquerque, and in the middle of “It’s not Funny . .” he looked at us in the crowd and yelled out that he was desperate to find original tunes and great players in unsigned- band-musicland. So we all went home and practiced really hard, learned how to write songs, read some inspirational Dr. Seuss stories, and came out of the house the next morning as Off Machine. By the next night the first demo tracks were ready, but Trey had already discovered Tub Ring that day, so Off Machine ventured out to find other interested individuals.
